CSEC Training for Guardians
20 November @ 12:00 pm - 3:30 pmFree
About this Event
This training is rooted in the understanding of providing service to Commercially Sexually Exploited Children, and will be provided from a Trauma Responsive Approach with an emphasis on “whole child” care.
This workshop is designed to educate and empower guardians who are caring for highly victimized children. Their role in the healing of these children is paramount and will look and feel much different from anyone outside of the home. This workshop will cover how to help make children feel safe, create a safe home environment, how to address inappropriate behaviors that often come up with CSEC, and how to advocate for their child within schools and services appropriately. Guardians will often times become educators to other service providers on behalf of the child, this workshop is meant to prepare them and empower them for that.
Workshop led by Ami Davis.
