Changing Locker Room Talk: Engaging Men& Boys to End Violence Against Women
10 February @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Join Aura Freedom for another Relentless Resilience event to end gender-based violence in Canada and beyond. Our Relentless Resilience event series brings together different experts, frontline workers, and community organizations to unpack various topics related to GBV and provide preventative education to ultimately eradicate gender-based violence.
Aura Freedom is collaborating with White Ribbon Canada and Next Gen Men to discuss how men and boys can engage in the movement to end violence against women.
Male violence against women and girls is the most common form of gender-based violence. Aura Freedom’s Relentless Resilience report – and countless other reports – has noted the urgent need to engage men and boys in order to change harmful narratives and dangerous gender norms that lead to violence. Attendees will be able to witness White Ribbon and Next Gen Men myth-bust feminism, break down gender norms, and discuss healthy masculinity.
This free event is a knowledge session open to all community members, youth, parents, fathers, brothers, educators, service providers, and more. Engaging men and boys to end violence against women is an important step to realizing a world without violence. We welcome all to join us in this pivotal conversation.
